About Nuclear Pulse
Nuclear Pulse is an independent weekly intelligence briefing on the global nuclear energy industry. Each issue is a structured synthesis of public industry publications — World Nuclear News, NucNet, Reuters, Bloomberg, ANS Nuclear Newswire, regional trade press, and similar primary sources — distilled into a single ~5000-word weekly digest.
What we cover
The briefing tracks seven recurring themes, in this priority order:
- Industry consolidation & M&A — major mergers, acquisitions, JVs across operators, vendors, and fuel-cycle companies
- New build & construction — SMR projects, Gen III+ large reactor progress, first concrete, grid connections, supply chain milestones
- Fuel cycle & supply — uranium spot/term pricing, conversion, enrichment, yellowcake shipments, fuel fabrication
- Policy & regulation — licensing frameworks (NRC, CNSC, ASN, Rostechnadzor), export controls (US/EU/Russia), SMR regulatory pathways
- Geopolitics & energy security — sanctions on Russian nuclear fuel, China export competition, India/Korea/UAE buildouts, nuclear diplomacy
- Operations & outages — refueling outages, unplanned downtime, capacity factors, grid integration challenges
- M&A / finance — SPAC mergers, IPOs, debt issuances, project finance for new-build fleets
What we do not cover
- Investment advice — Nuclear Pulse is news, not analysis-for-action. We do not recommend positions.
- Real-time pricing — data is weekly. For intraday spot/term prices, use UxC, TradeTech, or Sprott.
- Technical reactor physics — we cover industry news, not neutronics or fuel design at engineering depth.
- Security / proliferation — we cover civilian nuclear. Weapons-program analysis is out of scope.
- Climate advocacy — we cover the nuclear industry, not the climate debate.
Cadence and format
Nuclear Pulse is published every Sunday at 08:00 UTC. Each issue covers the prior 7 days. Issues are numbered by ISO date (YYYY-MM-DD) and remain permanently archived at archive.html. The current run started on 2026-03-28.
Methodology and sources
Each issue begins with a structured scan of 25-50 industry publications. Items are grouped by geography (Americas, Europe, Asia, Middle East & Africa) and then by theme. Every claim is linked to a numbered source at the bottom of the issue — readers can verify any single point in 2-3 clicks. No anonymous sourcing, no paywalled rephrasing, no AI-generated filler.
Editorial independence
Nuclear Pulse is published by Tollaskígyó, an independent knowledge base project. It is not affiliated with any nuclear operator, vendor, fuel-cycle company, government agency, or advocacy group. We accept no advertising, sponsorship, or consulting fees from entities covered in the briefing.
